Hiring movers Hutto homeowners can count on starts with the closing date, the builder's rules, and a written hourly quote. Most of the Hutto moves we run are into new construction, often with the builder still finishing punch-list items when the truck arrives. That changes how a crew should protect the house, where the truck parks, and when the job should start.
This guide is for buyers closing on a Hutto new-build, Austin and Round Rock households moving east, and families moving between Hutto neighborhoods. We run moves in Hutto every week. Use it so your estimate already reflects HOA notice, new-build protection, and drive timing you locked in writing. For neighborhood details, see our Hutto movers page.
Who this Hutto hire checklist is for

Use it if you are closing on a new-build in Star Ranch, Glenwood, or Hutto Highlands, moving from an Austin apartment into your first house, or leaving an established Hutto home for a bigger one. Use it if you got phone quotes that never asked about your HOA or your builder. Skip movers who will not put crew size, inclusions, and timing rules on paper.
New-build closings and builder punch lists
New-build closings can slide when final inspections, lender timing, or builder punch lists run long. In newer sections, trim crews and other trades may still be working on your street. Ask any mover:
- What happens if closing slides a day after the date is booked.
- Whether storage or a split move is possible if keys come late.
- How walls, corners, and thresholds are protected in a brand new house.
- How the crew works around builder trades on site.
Here is how we handle it: tell us the closing date at quote time and we coordinate the load window with your builder. We pad corners and wrap thresholds so the punch-list walk stays clean. If keys and move-out do not line up, we offer storage at our Austin facility. See our Austin storage page.
Hutto neighborhoods and HOA notice
Most Hutto master-planned communities have wide streets and three-car garages that make loading easier, but many want notice before a moving truck arrives. Ask your HOA and write down:
- How much notice the HOA wants before move day, and how to file it.
- Move-day hours and where the truck can park.
- Whether the builder is still active on your street.
- Who will be on site with keys and the garage code.
Star Ranch, off SH-130, still has an active builder in newer sections and wants 24-hour HOA notice, which we file at booking. Glenwood, east of 130, has sections so new the trim crew may still be on site. Emory Farms, off CR 199, has deeper driveways and an HOA office that takes 48-hour notice by email. Lookout at Brushy Creek sits on the Hutto and Round Rock line, Riverwalk runs along Brushy Creek, and Hutto Highlands is in north Hutto off FM 1660. Rules change, so confirm yours in writing.
Photograph the street, driveway, and entry at both addresses. Email the photos to support@heavenlymove.com. The quote form does not accept uploads.
US 79, SH-130, and drive timing
Hutto sits along US 79 east of Round Rock, with SH-130 running past the west side of town. On weekday afternoons, the I-35 to US 79 route can lose real time. Here is how we handle it: we usually route via SH-130 for that reason, and we start at 6:30 a.m. or arrive at 10 a.m. to keep the drive between your addresses short. Ask any mover how drive time between your two addresses is billed. On an hourly job, traffic is time.
What a written Hutto quote must include
Local moves are usually hourly. The PDF or email should still spell out:
- Crew size and truck size assumed for your inventory.
- The hourly rate, the minimum, and the billing increment after it.
- What the clock includes: stairs, long carries, and travel between stops.
- How packing materials and specialty items are priced.
- Deposit amount, cancellation window, and reschedule policy.
- Named access notes: HOA notice, builder activity, parking, and specialty items.
Red flag: a round number with no questions about your closing date or HOA. Here is how we handle it: the hourly rate you book is the rate you pay, with a two-hour minimum and 15-minute increments after it, and there is no extra fee for stairs or long carries. They just add time. Packing materials are a separate line item, and you pay only for what is used. For how the clock works, see our new guide to hourly movers in Austin.
Step-by-step hire checklist
- Confirm your closing date and ask the title company about likely delays.
- List rooms, heavy items, and specialty pieces.
- Email street and driveway photos to support@heavenlymove.com with your quote request.
- Get HOA notice rules and move-day hours in writing.
- Get at least one written estimate with crew size and inclusions named.
- Get the reschedule policy in writing in case closing slides.
- Pack and stage before arrival so the crew is not packing on the clock.
How we quote Hutto jobs
When you request a quote, we want inventory notes, floors, closing timing, HOA rules, and anything heavy or fragile before the date locks. You get a one-hour arrival window, or your first hour is free, and the crew lead texts an ETA. If closing moves, ask for an updated written scope. The clock starts when we arrive at your first address and stops when we're done.
Call (512) 340-0551 if you need to talk through a same-week closing or builder timing before you submit the form.
Trust signals specific to Hutto
A local number that answers. Willingness to put closing timing, HOA notice, and access notes on the estimate before asking for a deposit. Reviews that mention on-time arrival and a final price close to the quote. A crew that protects new walls and floors without being asked.
Hutto to Round Rock, Pflugerville, or Georgetown still needs two address notes
A short move in Williamson County can mean a new-build at one end and an older home or apartment at the other. Both ends belong on the estimate. For nearby guides, see Round Rock movers checklist, Pflugerville movers and written quotes, and Georgetown movers on Sun City and new builds. Moving from Austin? See Austin to Hutto movers.

Is the drive to Hutto billed? Our clock starts when we arrive at your first address and stops when we're done.
Should I tip? Many customers do when the crew finishes on plan. Tips are separate from the written rate.
